Inspired by Panther Chan’s When I’m Lost, the video follows a young woman striving to build her future while feeling uncertain about her direction. As she moves from adolescence into adulthood, her growing independence takes her away from home. Through a fictional narrative, Hong Kong scenes and voice-over, the film explores home as a source of strength she can return to.

The film explores the pressure to find your own way as you become an adult, and the distance that can grow between you and home. It reflects on how returning to familiar people and places can offer reassurance and the strength to keep moving forward.

I created the film from concept to final edit, developing the story, arranging locations and casting, and directing and filming the performances. I also recorded the voice-over and edited the video, bringing the narrative, Hong Kong scenes and music together to express the sense of lost and becoming an adult.

The completed music video tells a story of ambition, uncertainty and the emotional pull of home. Created during my Journalism and Communication degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, it brought together narrative filmmaking, location footage and voice-over in an early exploration of themes of belonging and growing up.
