PURPOSE
PURPOSE
I first experienced the ESN Music Project as a performer during my university exchange in Groningen, the Netherlands. I adapted the format and brought it to Scotland to help students connect through music, whatever their background or level of experience. By bringing musicians with different skills together, the project encouraged them to share knowledge, support one another and grow through making music together.

MY CONTRIBUTION
MY CONTRIBUTION
I recruited musicians and brought them together into bands, encouraging them to share skills and support one another across different backgrounds and levels of experience. I coordinated participants, arranged the venue, managed promotion and oversaw concert logistics. I also performed in the final concert, sharing the stage with the musicians I had brought together.

OUTCOMES
OUTCOMES
The project helped participants feel more confident in their musical abilities and empowered to create with others. Some continued playing together in bands beyond the project, carrying those connections into their wider lives. For some exchange students, it became one of the most memorable experiences of their time in Scotland, offering friendship, a sense of belonging and the chance to share the stage.
