ABOUT
ABOUT
SAVE is a short fiction film created collaboratively for Art Direction coursework during my Journalism and Communication degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I developed a story exploring academic pressure and student suicide in Hong Kong, drawing on a cultural belief that those who die by suicide repeatedly relive the moment of their death. The film uses this supernatural premise to explore the feeling of being trapped by expectations.

PURPOSE
PURPOSE
The project explored how fiction could communicate the emotional weight of academic expectations. The repeating moment became a way to examine a feeling of being trapped, bringing a supernatural dimension to a story rooted in the pressures experienced by students.

MY CONTRIBUTION
MY CONTRIBUTION
I wrote and directed the film, developing its supernatural premise into a story about academic pressure and the feeling of being trapped. I worked with the team to bring the script to the screen, then edited the footage and created the sound design, shaping the pacing, atmosphere and sense of repetition within the narrative.

OUTCOMES
OUTCOMES
The completed film brought an original story to the screen through a collaborative production. It gave me experience in developing a narrative for an Art Direction brief and working with a team to translate that concept into a finished film.
