ABOUT
ABOUT
Through ESEA Creatives’ collaboration with MilkTea, I host screenings of East and Southeast Asian cinema in Edinburgh, including events at Cameo Picturehouse. The screenings create space for audiences to discover films centred on ESEA stories and perspectives, with introductions and discussion extending the experience beyond watching the film.

PURPOSE
PURPOSE
The screenings aim to increase the visibility of ESEA cinema and bring people together through shared viewing and conversation. My approach to hosting is to make that conversation welcoming and approachable, giving audiences a way to engage with the films through their own observations and experiences.

MY CONTRIBUTION
MY CONTRIBUTION
As host, I welcome audiences, introduce the screenings and guide the conversation around the films. I help establish the tone of the event, offering context while leaving room for audiences to form and share their own responses. My focus is on holding a space where people feel comfortable contributing, whether they are familiar with ESEA cinema or encountering it for the first time. I bring my experience in public speaking, storytelling and community engagement to make the screening feel both thoughtful and sociable.
