ABOUT
ABOUT
Held on 27 February 2026 at WU Asia Pacific in Edinburgh, the party celebrated Lunar New Year and ESEA Creatives’ first birthday. A year after our first gathering on a snowy Edinburgh evening, we brought the community together again to celebrate how far it had grown. The programme included a zodiac-group fun fair led by Hello Art, calligraphy with Mare from Wayfarer Shodo Edinburgh, facilitated icebreakers, open mic, karaoke and a DJ set by Rabbitsoup. WU Asia Pacific supported the celebration with welcome drinks, sushi, dim sum and refreshments.

PURPOSE
PURPOSE
The event created a welcoming space for ESEA creatives and friends to celebrate, meet one another and take part in something together. Shared games and creative activities offered an easy starting point for conversation, particularly for people arriving without knowing anyone. The first-birthday celebration also recognised the people who had helped ESEA Creatives grow, bringing cultural celebration and community connection into the same evening.

MY CONTRIBUTION
MY CONTRIBUTION
As part of the ESEA Creatives team, I helped produce and organise the celebration, contributing to programme planning, promotion and participant communications. My focus was on making the experience welcoming and engaging, including developing warm-up activities that gave people an approachable way to join in. I helped communicate the programme through promotional content and event information, then followed up with attendees to share photographs, gather feedback and invite further involvement in ESEA Creatives.
